Cheers to the New Year!

As usual, it has been far too long since I made a post. Hopefully I will be better about updating in 2013, but no guarantees . . .

So much has happened since Halloween, and here are a few highlights:

Illinois State hosts a family bowling event for faculty and staff each semester.  This was the first year we participated, and it was so much fun!  Griffin was able to invite a friend, and he chose to bring his cousin, Ava.

Aaron and I took Griffin to his first ISU basketball game in early December. Again, he was able to invite a friend, and this time, he chose to bring his friend Eoin from school. We took the kids out to Steak 'n Shake for dinner before the game. Thanks to all the cheering from these two, the Redbirds won!

Griffin participated in the church Christmas program again this year.  He wasn't as excited to sing this year as he was last year, but he still did a great job.  It was a special day for him, as both sets of grandparents were able to attend.
We spent the weekend before Christmas at my parent's house.  Then, we headed to Jacksonville on Christmas Eve to spend time with Aaron's family.  This year was especially fun as Griffin and Ethan were excited about EVERYTHING!  I love this time of year :)

ISU was closed from December 22nd - January 1st, so I was able to spend extra time with the kids.  Aaron took his last vacation day of the year to be home with us as well.  We enjoyed watching movies and playing with all of their new toys.  And, of course, there was a little time for tackle football in the snow :)

Griffin can't wait for Ethan to "grow up" so they can share a room.  He always asks if Ethan can sleep in his bed.  So, one night, we gave it a try.  It was fun to listen to them giggle, but it took way to long for both of them to fall asleep.  They will definitely have the opportunity to share a room . . . . . someday.

2012 has been a great year for us.  We have been blessed in so many ways, and we look forward to all that 2013 has in store.  Happy New Year!
